Privacy Policy

Overview
Casette is a privacy-first offline audio player. We do not collect, store, or transmit your audio files on Casette servers. There is no Casette user account. Your library stays on your device unless you choose to import or stream from a cloud provider you control.
Data storage
Audio files you import are stored in the app sandbox on your device
(Documents/audio/). Library metadata — folders, playlists, tags, playback
positions, and preferences — is stored locally using AsyncStorage / UserDefaults.
You can optionally export a JSON metadata backup of your library organization. This backup does not include audio files and is initiated by you.
Network usage
Casette does not operate a backend for your audio. Network activity occurs only for the features below:

What we do not collect
- No Casette user accounts
- No analytics or advertising SDKs
- No tracking
- Audio files stay on device unless you import from cloud
iOS permissions
- Files / Documents — User picks files and folders to import
- Background audio — Playback while locked or using other apps
- Local network — Wi‑Fi transfer page
Not requested: microphone, camera, contacts, or location.
Third-party services
- Apple App Store — In-app purchase processing (Apple's privacy policy applies)
- Google — Optional Google Drive sign-in when you choose Connect Google Drive
- Apple iCloud / Files — System file picker for imports and iCloud folder linking
Children's privacy
Casette is rated 4+. We do not collect personal information from users, including children. There is no user-generated content, social features, or restricted content in the app.
Changes
We may update this policy as features change. Updates will be reflected on this page and in the app where appropriate.
